The grass is always greener on the other side

 

If someone is a bit green, it means he/she is a bit inexperienced. 


If you have green fingers it means you are very good at gardening.



If someone is green with envy, it means he/she is very jelous of something you have, or your good fortune.


When people say that the grass is always greener on the other side, they are saying that peoples' lives are always better than that of themselves.


If someone gives you the green light, it means you have the permission to do something.

Note: to be/go green also means to be concerned about the environment.
